The world’s most popular social networking site underwent a few changes in the recent past. With the introduction of the Video calling and the Group Chat features, Facebook got the much needed flair incorporated into its interface, but only at the expense of the changes made to the interface of the much liked and the much loved chat box.
The interface of the Facebook Chat box was changed completely in order to support the introduction of the Video calling and Group Chat features into the interface. But however, most of the users were not happy with the new design and look of the chat box which reappeared as a sidebar on right side of the Facebook page.
The new chat box displayed Friends who were both Online and Offline instead of showing the list of friends who were only online. This was the reason why most of the Facebook users did not vote for the newly designed Chat box. But However, there is happy news for all Facebook users who loved to use the old style chat box because, an extension in the form of Facebook Chat Sidebar Disabler has been designed which when installed on your browsers will disable the new chat box sidebar and replace it with the old style chat box.
NOTE: - the Facebook Chat Sidebar Disabler has been designed to support only three of the modern day browsers namely Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera.

How to use the Extension
Once you have the extension installed on your respective browsers, navigate to your Facebook profile and open the Chat box.
In the Chat box, click on Options and then click on the option that says Use old-styled chat.
That is it! Now you will have the much loved and liked old-styled chat box back on your Facebook profile.
NOTE: - the old-styled chat box does not display options for Group chat and Video calling. So, if you do not use those two features, then you can switch to old-styled chat box, but if you often use Group chat and do video calling, then the new-styled chat box is recommended.
In case, if you would like to switch back to the new sidebar-styled chat box, then disable the Facebook Chat Sidebar Disabler extension on your browser.
