iBall Slide Vs Reliance 3G Tab
Tablet PC market is growing at such a rapid pace that every manufacturer who are known for designing products in their own niche have started developing their own Tablet PC’s. The most recent one being iBall, who are known for manufacturing computer peripherals have come up with their own version of a tablet PC, the iBall Slide. The probable reason that could be behind this paradigm shift of these manufacturers might be the craze the Apple’s iPads have been able to create in the current tablet PC’s market.
The release of iBall slide comes as a direct counter-attack to one of the earlier released tablet PC’s, the Reliance 3G Tab, launched by Reliance communications. Both the Tablets fall under similar and affordable price tags and with all necessary features on offer that a user looks out for. Currently, iBall Slide and the Reliance 3G tab are the best affordable tablet PC’s available in the current Indian market.
As soon as the iBall Slide was released, a confusion started creeping up in the minds of tablet PC enthusiasts as to which one they should choose and for which they should go for, so that it worth their money. So, here in this article, I will try and compare these two tablets PC’s based on various parameters such as Display, Processor, Battery life etc and then opt out the winner tablet PC across each of the parameters.
Display
Both the Tablet PC’s come with a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display that can support a resolution of 800×480 pixels. So, what’s the difference between the two display units? iBall slide’s display unit is more capable than the Reliance 3G tab’s when it comes to HD video playback and playing 3D games.
Winner: – iBall Slide
Operating system
Both the tablet PC’s comes shipped with the latest Android v2.3 Ginger bread OS.
Winner: – Draw
Processor and RAM
Reliance 3G tab is powered by an 800MHz processor and 512MB RAM while the iBall slide is powered by a powerful 1GHz ARM cortex-A8 processor and a similar 512MB RAM. So, a faster processor means zippy performance. The powerful processor helps in the zippy performance of the iBall slide tablet PC. Faster the processor, the better the output you can expect from the device.
Winner: – iBall Slide
Camera
iBall Slide sports a 2 mega Pixels camera at the front end for video calling purposes but lacks a rear camera to capture your beautiful moments. While Reliance 3G tab sports a primary 2 Mega Pixels camera at the rear and a VGA camera at the front both for capturing beautiful moments and video calling respectively. So, it is advantage here to the Reliance 3G tab with the option of two cameras.
Winner: – Reliance 3G Tab
Memory
iBall slide comes with an internal memory of 8GB whereas the Reliance 3G tab does not have any inbuilt memory but you will get a 4GB external SD card along with the box piece. Both the Tablet C’s support Micro SD cards to expand external memory up to 32GB. So, iBall Slide’s total memory comes to 40GB where as the Reliance 3G Tab’s total memory comes to 36GB. So, iBall Slide has that extra 4GB memory to store your stuff.
Winner-: iBall Slide
Battery Life
Reliance 3G tab is powered by a 3400MHz battery that can offer up to 8 hours of music playback and up to 7 hours of video playback whereas the iBall slide is powered by a much powerful 4400MHz battery that can offer up to 6-7 hours of continuous music playback and 5-6 hours of continuous video playback. Though, iBall slide has a more powerful battery, it tends to squeeze out extra battery life due to the powerful processor and the amount of multitasking it is capable to handle at a single time. So, if you insist on a better battery life for your device, the Reliance 3G tab is the way to go.
Winner: – Reliance 3G Tab
3G Data on offer
Reliance 3G tab is a SIM-locked device. So, you cannot use any other data network carrier other than Reliance to access data on the Internet. But However, Reliance is offering 1GB of free 3G data along with the device. iBall Slide is not a SIM-locked device. So, you are free to use your own choice of network carrier on the device. But however, there isn’t any free 3G data on offer along with the device. Since Reliance is offering various 3G data plans and the brand value it possesses, Reliance 3G Tab has an added advantage in this regard. But, if you want to use a SIM of your own choice, then iBall slide is the way to go. You have to purchase a data card accessed through USB separately for accessing 3G network on iBall slide.
Winner: – Reliance 3G Tab
Price
Iball Slide makes you to shell out Rs 13,995 and extra odd bucks if you want to purchase the 3G Data card for accessing 3G network on the device. In contrast, Reliance 3G tab makes you to shell out only Rs 12,999 inclusive of 1GB free 3G data. So, Iball slide is costlier by at least Rs 1500, courtesy the extra 200 MHz processor that improves the performance of the device, 4GB of Memory, unlocked device and a better display.
Winner: – Reliance 3G Tab
Final Verdict:
So, keeping in the mind the above comparison, Reliance 3G Tab comes out as winner across four parameters namely Camera, Battery Life, 3G data on offer and Price, whereas iBall Slide comes out as winner across three parameters namely Display, Processor & RAM and Memory and there is a draw across one parameter, the Operating system.
So, the best way to decide which tablet PC you should go for is to look out for the parameters that you most preferably want on your Tablet PC and if the chosen tablet comes out as winner across your prescribed parameters, then that is the one your should go for.
