I would not be wrong if I say that one of the primary purposes for having a smartphone or a mobile phone is to quench the hunger for Music present inside you. To quench that hunger, it is not only enough to have a good smartphone, but also a good piece of Music player that is capable of extracting even the minute music elements from within a song, has a good looking and an easy to use interface. What also adds to the advantage of a Samrtphone Music player is that how capably it can club its features along with that of the standard features of a smartphone and cater to the basic music needs of a smartphone user.
If you are a Samsung Galaxy S user, then you need not worry about the Music player and its features, because the device has one of the best in-built music players shipped along with it. NOTE: -The features mentioned below represents the in- built music player that is present on Samsung galaxy S device running on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. In case, if you have upgraded your phone’s OS to 2.3 Gingerbread OS or to any other versions of OS, then you may have a different Music player and features applicable for it.
So, let’s look into the awesome features now

Turn Songs list into Disc and Thumbnail views

Are you tired of seeing the boring horizontal list view of the songs stored on your phone? Then with the in-built music player, you can add some variety to the display format of the Songs list. You can have the songs list displayed in Disc view format or a Thumbnail view format. The Disc view format really adds to the advantage of the music player. Scrolling is a lot more fun in the Disc view format.

In order to enable the Disc view or Thumbnail view, tap on the Menu button while the Music player is opened on your phone and then from the Pop-up menu thus revealed, you can select Disc view for viewing the songs list in a Disc view format and thumbnail view for viewing them in a thumbnail format. The Thumbnail view can be enabled only when you are viewing your songs list in the Albums format. See the snapshot below.

Set the currently playing track as voice call or Alarm ringtone

Though the feature of setting the currently playing track as a ringtone is present on most of the music players, what sets this player aside is that, it allows the playing track to be set either as a Voice call ringtone, a video call ringtone, a caller ringtone or an Alarm tone.

In order to set the current track as ringtone, tap on the Menu button, then from the pop-up menu thus revealed, select Set as and then from the second pop-up menu thus revealed, you can select which ever type of ringtone you wish to set.

A good set of Equalizers and effects to choose from

The Music player in Galaxy S provides a good set of equalizers and effects to choose from in order to tune up music to suit your requirements and style. Though equalizers are a common feature present on all music players, The Effects feature is not quite common. with the effect feature, you can tune the current track to suit the location where it is being played. for example, if you are in a concert hall, then you can have the current track matched up to the surroundings of a concert hall.

To select different equalizers and effects, tap on the Menu button either while a track is being played or when the music player is opened and then from the pop-up menu thus opened, select Settings. in the Settings screen thus opened, you can select the options Equalizer and Effect to change their respective settings.

Add a track to Playlist and share it on the fly

The Music player provides its users with the option of adding the currently playing track to the playlist and also share a track on the fly via Bluetooth. For instance, just assume that you heard a lovely song on your phone from a recent movie and you wish to share that song with one of your friends who is sitting near to you and also wish to add the track to your favourite playlist. You can do these two things on the fly. Just tap on the Menu button while the song is playing and from the pop-up menu thus displayed, you can select the option for sharing the track called Share via bluetooth.

In order to add the current track to your playlist, select the option that says Add to Quicklist. This is what I meant when i said, the music player should be capable of integrating or clubbing its features along with the standard features and purposes of a smartphone.

Sort and categorize songs as you like

do you have a favorite singer to whose songs you listen every time? Then the Music player on your Samsung galaxy s will allow you to sort and categorize songs based on different Artists. You can also sort and categorize them based on Albums, Genres, Composers, years etc. The option of sorting songs based on Years is a good feature that will allow you to know the details about a particular song such as the year in which it made its debut.
