Perfect AppLock – an app to lock individual apps on your android devices

Have you been searching for an app that would let you lock apps and other things such as gallery, settings, task manager etc. on your Android devices? Then here is one simple, yet a wonderfully organized app called Perfect AppLock that will allow Android users to lock specific apps, gallery, Settings etc. etc.

Perfect AppLock is available both as a free version and a paid version, but the only difference between the two is that, the paid version is free of advertisements whereas the free version is not. But anyways, the free version is enough to get you job done successfully.

Download the free version of Perfect AppLock from the Android market

Once you have the app installed on your Android device, it is as simple as it is to make the app work fluently on the device. When you open the perfect AppLock application for the first time, it will ask you to enter the default password, which in this case will be mentioned along with the app itself in the form of a hint. The password will most probably consist of 4 digits (same digits, for example, 2222). As soon as you enter the password, you will be prompted to a setup wizard which you need to follow (it is simple, only two steps) to configure the app successfully on your android device.

Once the app is successfully configured and you open it, you will see its interface displayed on your android device’s screen along with a lock icon displayed on the notification bar. On the screen, you can see that, by default, the Settings, Android market and Task manager will be locked automatically by the Perfect AppLock application under the protected Menu folder.

Now, to lock other apps, click on the menu that says ALL in the Perfect AppLock application.

Once you click on ALL, the whole lot of applications including the gallery, contacts, camera, calendar etc. will be displayed on your screens.

To lock an item, just click on the checkbox that will be displayed next to that respective item.  Once an item or an app is checkmarked, it will be placed under the protected menu folder of the application. Which means the app is locked and you cannot access it unless and until the right password is supplied.

To remove an application from the protected list, just go to the Protected Menu and click on the appl that you want to remove and then click on the OK button to confirm the removal process.

One good feature of the Perfect Lock Application is that, it automatically goes into a state such that whenever your screen on the device goes into the lock mode, you are again required to enter the password to gain access to the application, which in a sense is a fine security tweak.

In case, if you want to change the default password for the application, click on the Settings Menu and then scroll down a little bit to find an option called Change password that lets you to change the password.

If you want to disable the Perfect AppLock application, then go to your Task manager and then under Active Applications, click on the End button that will be displayed next to the entry of Perfect AppLock application. Once you end the application, the lock icon on the notification bar gets disappeared. To enable it again, just click on the Perfect AppLock icon on your homescreen and enter the password.

That’s it to this simple, yet a useful and well organized app that allows you to lock almost all items on your Android devices.
