Earlier in one of our posts we guided you on how to use Page Title Eraser extension for hiding page titles of selected tabs in your Firefox browser. In this post, we will guide you on how to rename tabs using TabRenamizer extension in Firefox browser. It is very much common that people often look into the page titles of the opened tabs in your browser to know what you are doing. Now, with the TabRenamizer extension, you can make other people believe that you are surfing worthy content online.
The extension changes the page titles of tabs to random names with a single mouse click so that nobody will suspect what pages you are viewing or reading. Once you install the add-on, right click on a tab whose title you have to change and then from the resulting drop down menu, select Rename this tab. See the snapshot below for details.
In Select a title for this tab window thus opened, you can use the default random titles that have already been preinstalled. To use these default titles, click on the drop down arrow of the original page title and then select any random title names that gets revealed. See the snapshot below for details.
If you do not wish to use the default random titles, then, click on the radio button that says Replace and then enter the original title name of the web page that you want to replace next to the Replace option and then enter the random title that you want to display as the changed tab title next to the For column. A preview will be shown in the preview section as you start renaming the title. See the snapshot below for details.
If you select the check box that says Do this always for pages like, then every time you open this web page, the original title will not be displayed on the web page’s tab.
Overall, the TabRenamizer is a simple and a very useful add-on that helps you in renaming all your opened tabs in your browser window. We recommend this add-on for all Firefox users.
